With new steel components required to upgrade the eastern end of Auckland Airport’s runway, the designer working on this project needed accurate 3D CAD files to produce models that would be compatible with the door and roof structures.

Construction As-Built Survey

Our team carried out comprehensive as-built surveys of the existing hangar structure, capturing precise measurements of the doors, roof trusses, and other key elements. This data formed the foundation for accurate planning and integration of the new steel components.

We also performed precise height checks throughout the structure and translated our survey data into detailed three-dimensional CAD files. These models allowed the designer to visualise and develop new steelwork that would fit seamlessly within the existing framework, reducing the risk of fabrication errors and on-site adjustments.

The Result

By delivering accurate as-built information and 3D models, Kiwi Vision helped the design and fabrication process for the hangar’s upgrade. The new components were manufactured and installed with confidence, minimising downtime and disruption to Air New Zealand’s operations.
